KCU’s Student-Run Clinic serves Kansas City’s houseless community with foot clinic

As medical students, members of KCU’s Student-Run Clinic know that feet can be a window into a patient&rsqo;s overall health. In an effort to improve the health and wellness of Kansas City’s underserved and unhoused community, the Student-Run Clinic designed and implemented a unique experience in foot health called FreshStep.

KCU alumnus establishes first scholarship specifically for LGBTQ+ students

“Many marginalized and disenfranchised groups are overlooked within medicine, hence the importance of a scholarship recognizing and embracing the sexual and gender diversity within our student body. Acknowledging a deserving student for their LGBTQ+ advocacy nourishes my soul,” Ron Holt II, DO (COM ‘93) explained.

KCU Global Health combines clinical skills and compassion

When KCU student doctors entered a makeshift clinic in the aldeas of Guatemala, they were greeted with a standing ovation. In this community comprised of all ages from newborn babies to elderly abuelas, access to medical care is something to applaud.
