Student Experience
Putting Our Students FirstAs a medical student, you'll experience some of the most rewarding, exhilarating and challenging years of your life. We’re here to support you while you prepare to care for patients, advocate on their behalf and serve communities.
You Belong Here
The KCU student community is routinely cited as one of the most welcoming of its kind — and it shows. The relationships you build with your peers will make you a better student in and out of the classroom — and provide you with a professional network for life.

Explore Your Purpose
At KCU, you’ll find countless opportunities to develop skills and connections that support your dream of becoming a physician.
Get Involved
Let your network become your lifeline.
Your student experience is defined by the connections you build outside the classroom. Joining clubs and student organizations allows you to engage in your personal and professional interests while giving back to the community. Every club completes at least one service project each year.
Serve
Change the lives of others — and yourself.
Service is an integral aspect of campus life at KCU. Beginning with our annual WE CARE Community Service Day, you’ll be immersed in giving back through outreach programs, service-learning experiences and volunteering. Your efforts contribute to local health outreach — including serving those experiencing houselessness — and to global health initiatives.
Practice
Build hands-on skills from the beginning.
As a medical student at KCU, you gain hands-on experience through clinical clerkships, faculty-led research opportunities, and participation in a student-run clinic. Such opportunities translate directly into your ability to place in top residency programs across the country.
The Support for You to Succeed
Our vibrant campus community is here to help as you prepare to serve the needs of patients in communities around the world.
Embracing Equity and Inclusion
We are committed to maintaining a diverse, equitable and inclusive learning community.
Our Office of Diversity and Inclusion strives to foster a transformative, welcoming, equitable and inclusive environment for faculty, staff and students who bring varied human characteristics, backgrounds, interests and points of views.
Wellness and Balance
Your ability to provide quality patient care depends on your health and well-being. We offer many resources to provide you with the support you need to flourish personally, professionally and academically. Attend de-stress events with therapy dogs, access free mental and medical telehealth services, make use of on-campus counseling and more.
